Organic vs. Paid Social Media
What's the difference & which should you be using for your business?

Short answer is - you should probably be doing both! First, let's talk about what each one is.
💡Organic social media are posts that you create and post/share on your account with your following.
💡Paid social media are targeted ads (based on things such as demographics, interests, location, etc.) that you fund in order to expand your reach and audience.
Things like algorithm updates make it difficult for your organic posts to be seen. Less than 10% of your page followers actually see your posts. Yes, LESS than 10%!
Likes, comments and shares on your post can help the algorithm to show your organic posts to more of your following.
Pros of organic social media posts include increasing brand awareness, building your community and brand voice and gaining insights from your audience.
The benefits of paid social media are plentiful. You can reach a broader audience, drive traffic to your website, control your budget, drive more conversions and measure results. Paid ads are a great way to reach new or potential customers for your business. Another pro to paid ads are the ability to do A/B testing on things like copy, creative and call-to-action.
In summary, both paid and organic social media should have a place in your marketing plan as they each serve a specific purpose.
