Are you growing your email list?

Jamie Bajgert

Email marketing is an important part of growing your business!

An email list is a vital asset for business owners like you because it provides direct access to your audience, independent of social media platforms. Unlike social media accounts that are subject to algorithm changes, bans, or shutdowns (like the potential TikTok ban), an email list offers more control and stability.

Email provides:

  1. Direct Communication: With an email list, you can directly communicate with your audience whenever you want. You can send targeted messages, promotions, updates, and valuable content directly to subscribers' inboxes, ensuring your message reaches them without relying on platform algorithms.
  2. Ownership and Control: Unlike social media accounts, where businesses are subject to platform rules and changes, an email list is owned and controlled entirely by YOU. You have full control over how you use and manage your list.
  3. Higher Engagement and Conversion: Email marketing often yields higher engagement and conversion rates compared to social media. Subscribers on an email list have already shown interest in your business, making them more likely to engage with and respond to email campaigns.
  4. Long-term Relationship Building: Building an email list allows you to nurture long-term relationships with your audience. By consistently delivering value through email content, you can establish trust, credibility, and loyalty, leading to repeat sales and customer retention.
  5. Mitigating Platform Risks: The potential TikTok ban highlights the importance of diversifying marketing channels and reducing reliance on any single platform. Having an email list provides a backup plan against platform risks, ensuring that you can continue reaching your audience even if one platform becomes unavailable.

Now you may be wondering, how exactly do I grow my email list?? Here are some examples:

  1. Offer Lead Magnets: Create valuable content such as eBooks, whitepapers, guides, or templates that address your audience's pain points or interests. Offer these as incentives in exchange for email sign-ups.
  2. Optimized Website Forms: Place opt-in forms prominently on your website, including on the homepage, blog posts, and landing pages. Make it easy for visitors to subscribe by keeping forms simple and straightforward.
  3. Content Upgrades: Offer bonus content upgrades within your blog posts or articles that are directly related to the content. Ask readers to subscribe to receive the additional resources.
  4. Exit-Intent Pop-ups: Use exit-intent pop-ups to capture visitors who are about to leave your website. Offer them a compelling reason to subscribe, such as a discount or exclusive content.
  5. Social Media Promotion: Leverage your social media platforms to promote your email list. Share teasers of your lead magnets or exclusive content and direct followers to sign up for your email list to access it.
  6. Host Webinars or Workshops: Offer free webinars or workshops on topics of interest to your audience. Require attendees to register with their email addresses to participate.
  7. Run Contests or Giveaways: Hold contests or giveaways where participants can enter by subscribing to your email list. Make sure the prize is relevant to your target audience to attract quality subscribers.
  8. Networking Events: Collect email addresses at networking events, trade shows, or conferences by offering to send valuable resources or follow-up information via email.
  9. Referral Programs: Encourage your current subscribers to refer their friends or colleagues to join your email list by offering incentives such as discounts, freebies, or exclusive content for both parties.
  10. Optimized Landing Pages: Create dedicated landing pages with persuasive copy and compelling visuals that highlight the benefits of subscribing to your email list. Use clear calls-to-action to encourage conversions.

If you are looking to grow your email list but don't know where to start, let's talk!
